A decade ago I posted to Awate an essay in two parts that all agree inaugurated the democratic movement against the dictatorship. This essay was a culmination of letters and articles that campaigned for elections. Isaias’ regime responded by announcing: Election 2001. This is the first part; the second part shall follow soon.

Some Thoughts Regarding the Projected National Conference

1. Introduction

An Ideological Overview

1. ‘Sovietism’

At the height of the Industrial Revolution and the age of imperialism, society was ranged along the Labor and Capital class divide. Leninists as well as social democrats agreed on the observation that the bourgeoisie dominated the state.

ብ 2008 ማእከላዊ መሪሕነት ኪዳን ንኣባልነት ሰልፊ ጉባኤ ኤርትራ ብዝምልከት “ጉባኤ ምስ ተሰላስሉ ኣባልነት ሰልፍኹም ክረጋገጽ እዩ” ዝብል ውሳነ ከም ዘሕለፈ ዝዝከር እዩ።

እዚ ውሳነ ብድምጺ ልዕሊ ¾ ኣባላት ማእከላዊ መሪሕነት ስለ ዝጸደቐ ክልዓል ዝግብኦ ሕጋዊ ሕቶ ፥ “ሰልፊ ጉባኤ ኤርትራ ጉባኤኡ ኣማሊኡ’ዶ ኣየማልአን” ጥራይ እምበር ክልኦት

ዘይሕጋውያን ሕቶታት ክለዓሉ ኣይምተገብአን።

ኣብዚ ቐረባ እዋን ብኣሳናዳኢ ሽማግለ ዝተጸውዐ ዓውደ-መጽናዕቲ ኣብ ኣዲስ ኣበባ ከም ዝተኻየደ ዝዝከር እዩ። ሰልፊ ጉባኤ ኤርትራ ኣብዚ ዓውደ-መጽናዕቲ ተሳቲፉ ነበረ። ኣብኡ ዘተኰርናሉ ነጥቢ ኣቃውማ ኣሰናዳኢ ሽማግለ ነበረ፣ ንሱ ድማ ኣባላት ኣሰናዳኢ ሽማግለ ካብ ኩሎም ህዋሳት (ማለት ካብ ስደንያታትን ካብ ሃገራት ድያስፖራን ካብ ኪዳን ወጻኢ ዝዀኑ ፖለቲካዊ ሓይልታትን ምሁራትን ወዘተ) ክቐውም ዝብል ነበረ። ብሰልፍና ዝቐረቡ መጽናዕትታት እዞም ዝስዕቡ እዮም፤ 1) 'መበገሲ ሓሳባት ነቲ ዝሕለን ዘሎ ሃገራዊ ዋዕላን' 2) 'መትከላትን ቻርተርን ነበሩ'።
